Bishops' Representatives Gather for Training Day

Posted on the 27th Jan 2015 in the category News

Today, Bishops’ Representatives from almost every diocese of the Church of England gathered together with Bishops of The Society to undergo some training.  Issues reflected upon included the nature and purposes of The Society, The Role of the Bishop's Representative and how to advise parishes about Resolutions under the House of Bishops' Declaration.  The day also included theological reflection, fellowship and the sharing of good practice.  At Mass, the Right Revd Tony Robinson, Chairman of the Council of Bishops of The Society, preaching upon the text "The Lord has put a new song in my mouth" said,

"Today the Lord has indeed given us a new song. For too long we have struggled to sing the same song together. With the five guiding principles that now exist in the Church of England we have an opportunity to sing this new song, to flourish, to work together to build up the life of our parishes to proclaim the Good News of Christ."
